Personally, I’ve had a couple of friends walk the divorce plank. Unlike my reaction to the Seal and Heidi split, I was saddened to hear the news of a friend’s divorce. No matter how you slice it, a friend’s divorce is usually sad.

I am a card carrying member of the Academy of Vanity. My goal is to “hold it together” and age with style. And thanks to a carefully mixed cocktail of Zumba, hot yoga, pilates, weight training, healthy eating, good genes, and a talented stylist/colorist, I’m still paying dues to the Vanity Academy. But now I tell myself that my efforts are really about maintaining good health and less about vanity. Yeah, right.

I love music and sing loudly in the shower, in the car and in church. In church, I am a first chair alto or second soprano depending upon my mood, unconcerned about what my neighbors think about my less than perfect pitch. To me, pitch is something that you do with horseshoes or a baseball.

Motherhood is a delicate dance that many people “think” they are doing properly, but in fact they may be mucking up big time, creating a brood of new couch time patients for still yet untrained psychotherapists.

The pressure to produce heirs, the paparazzi recording your every step, I mean, any beautiful, size two stunner would leg it!  Who would willingly sign up for that madness? But as you learn with wisdom, the heart wants what it wants

A leader must do the right thing, even when no one is watching. It's called integrity.

Equipped with my newfound knowledge, I asked the pastor if he removed his shoes before preaching because of Exodus 3:5.  He tilted his head to the side and replied, “I take my shoes off because my feet hurt.” I smiled, and tried to disappear into my seat.

Today, my favorite over priced coffee emporium had a scribbled sign posted on the door stating that they only offered one type of brewed coffee. The near empty parking lot should have been my first clue. The barista who wrote the sign spelled inconvenience incorrectly, yet another example of the text crazed-”who needs to know how to spell when you have spellcheck?” culture.
